LennyLamb was founded by Joanna Bogdan in 2008 in Poland. The company is a Supporting Sponsor for The Wrap Show 2017. In the following interview, Joanna shares more about LennyLamb.

How did LennyLamb come to be?

The story started in 2007 when I tried to buy a wrap for my son. He was around three months old then, and I was fascinated by the idea of babywearing. However, it wasn’t easy to find an appropriate wrap in Poland at that time. So I started dreaming about high-quality wraps accessible for all the parents who want to carry their children. Officially, LennyLamb – a family business run by two sisters and their husbands – came to life a year after I tied the first knot on a woven wrap. Now the company is situated in a small village near Piotrkow Trybunalski – and all the LennyLamb products are manufactured in one place with love and care.

What drew you to the world of wraps and carriers initially?

I fell in love with the functionality of babywearing and closeness, as an idea of continuum: the needs of the baby are met and the parent can do many things at the same time.

What inspires you in your work?

The main inspiration for our LennyLamb team is babywearing parents: we’re helping people cope with their daily challenges, and it gives us extreme power. We listen to the needs of our customers and try to meet them – we offer a wide range of products, from stretchy wraps, through woven wraps and ergonomic carriers to onbuhimo.

Another very important thing is the responsibility of people and their families. LennyLamb employs over 100 people – women over 50 years old, mothers of little children; we give work to valuable people who may have trouble finding it elsewhere. It’s a great responsibility.

Why do you think wraps and carriers are so important for parents and children?

There are different parents and children – and various needs. Babywearing enables reconciling many aspects of our lives, many needs and duties. Babywearing shows us that we don’t have to be restricted to the parenting role only. For example, we can realize our passions with a happy child close to our heart. In consequence, it makes families more happy and relaxed.

What is your favourite part about using woven wraps and carriers personally?

Being a parent of a small child is sometimes very hard and babywearing can help a lot. You can calm all the anxiety of the baby, give her or him all the closeness they need – and have your hands free for many things that you have to do in your daily routine.

How do you encourage new parents who are interested but hesitant to try wrapping?

There’s nothing better than a positive example – we’re not only selling wraps and carriers, we’re wearing our babies too! You can see our children in many LennyLamb photos and tutorials – their joy gives us strength and ensures us that we’ve chosen the right way!

What’s most exciting or satisfying about working in this industry?

Finding solutions for babywearing parents, hearing their stories and seeing smile on their faces – it’s so rewarding! And there’s true magic in creating the Beauty – seeing the whole process of the creation, from the vague idea, through weaving and sewing to the final product.

Where do you see LennyLamb in five years? Ten years?

My dream is to reach babywearing parents all over the world with interesting, modern designs and high-quality wraps at very good prices.

What experience do you hope for LennyLamb customers? In other words, what do you hope to accomplish or inspire through your work?

As a LennyLamb team, we’re proud when we see how our products let our customers enjoy every moment of parenting, help survive difficult moments and enable self-realization in different areas.

Is there anything new about LennyLamb or its products that you’d like to share?

We’re still working on new products – maybe we’ll be able to show you something completely new during The Wrap Show.
