Mindful Sling Walk
Join Selina from Being Mumma for this peaceful walk surrounding the RHS Royal  Horticultural Halls taking place for Maternal Mental Health Matters Awareness Week 1 – 7th May, a week organised by the Perinatal Mental Health Partnership to raise awareness of maternal mental wellbeing.

Mindfulness is great for the mental health and wellbeing of mothers in pregnancy, early motherhood and beyond.  We will use the experience of walking mindfully to help us connect with our body and learn to move with awareness; in the present moment.  When being mindful in this way and by keeping our attention on our breath, each step we take and the connection with our children we can move away from being carried away by our thoughts and into living consciously.

Come along to cultivate some calm after a busy day at the show and learn some tools to take away with you.  Everyone is welcome to the walk – children in slings, buggies or walking, or come on your own!  It will be a very gentle walk, and the walk itself will last around 25 to 30 minutes.

Mindful Moments
You can also join Selina at the seating areas for some mini mindfulness exercises to keep you grounded and calm during the day.

More ways to relax at the show


And there are more ways to relax at the show. Big events can be overwhelming, especially if you’re pregnant or have little ones with you, we know! Here are some ways we hope you can relax at the show.

  • Soft seating: take a break, sit down, and rest somewhere comfortable. We’ve ordered a load of sofas so you can always find somewhere to grab a moment and catch your breath.
  • Feeding area: please be free to feed wherever you want whenever you want or more likely whenever and wherever little one wants! If you need more quiet there is seating in the feeding area to the left when you come in the doors.
  • Soft play: let the little ones get their wriggles out in the soft play area in the North Annex. There is also soft seating in that area.
  • Café: if you need any food or refreshments the mezzanine café will be open during the day for you to get a bite or have a drink.
